Welcome to Summer 2018

Welcome to Summer 2018 at Frank H. Hammond Elementary School.

We are busy upgrading our infrastructures by replacing fifty year old chillers and boilers and creating safe secure entryways. Plans are underway for aesthetic upgrades to our physical environment inside the building during the next phase of remodeling next summer.

Student success is our #1 priority while fostering the growth of your whole child, socially, emotionally and academically.  Our mission is to develop strong relationships with families and community, so that all of our students will be motivated and empowered to achieve their personal best.

Be sure to take time out for reading this summer. Whether you are reading for fun, reading together or reading for information, help your child minimize that "summer slide."

"Research shows that summer slide may even be a contributing factor to the achievement gap, widening the disparity in academic achievement among children from different socioeconomic levels well into middle school and high school." (Nova Education, Science for Learning by: Christine Castelli)

Please take an active role in your child’s education.  You are always welcome at Frank H. Hammond through volunteering and through our very supportive PTO.  Keep connected at FHH by checking PowerParent regarding your child’s grades, look for classroom information regularly, and be sure to connect yourself to our school news through email and social media!

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to educate your child(ren)!

Frank Hammond named National Blue Ribbon School

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is a United States government program created in 1982 to honor schools which have achieved high levels of performance or made significant improvements in closing the achievement gap.  Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. In 2014, FHH was honored to be recognized as a high performing school by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program.  This recognition is based on 5 years of achievement performance.

The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.
