Welcome to the new school year at Frank H. Hammond!

It is with great excitement and optimism that we welcome you to a new school year at Frank H. Hammond! Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are so glad you are part of our school community. We are deeply committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally at FHH.
This year, we’re especially excited to deepen our work in inquiry-based problem solving and strategic reading instruction. Through student-centered learning experiences, our goal is to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and empower students to become critical thinkers and effective problem solvers. Our instructional approach inspires students to ask questions, investigate real-world problems, and engage meaningfully with content, building both academic skills and confidence.
In reading, we focus on purposeful and strategic instruction to help students become thoughtful, independent readers. We are equipping them with the tools they need to monitor their understanding, make connections, and analyze texts in ways that build comprehension and foster a lifelong love of reading.
Our dedicated educators have spent the summer preparing engaging, rigorous, and innovative lessons that meet the needs of all learners. Whether through collaborative projects, meaningful discussions, or hands-on discovery, we aim to inspire students to “make their mark” on the world.
We also recognize that true growth happens through strong partnerships. Your involvement, ideas, and support are essential to our shared success. Let’s continue to communicate openly, celebrate progress, and stay committed to the journey ahead.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen the impact of focusing on student growth, and we’re not stopping now. Our students are capable, talented, and ready for the challenge ahead. We can’t wait to see all they will accomplish this year.
Here’s to a year of learning, growing, and “making our mark”—together!
